Kindred Spirit Elephant Sanctuary is an NGO focused on research, education, conservation and giving back to the local community. They operate in Ban Naklang, a little village in the mountains, 4 hours west from Chiang Mai.
They offer a unique opportunity to immerse in the Thai culture in rural Thailand while learning about elephant conservation. Overnight accommodations are offered in homestays and activities include hiking, observing elephants in their natural habitat, learning about conservation, cooking with a host family, teaching English to local children and basket weaving.
